Floods + Fires
"Gatsby have the great American indie-guitar rock album on their hands." — Big Takeover
About This Release
A more balanced affair than the Five Songs EP (2003), Floods + Fires is a dynamic set that pits Gatsby's penchant for noisy, double-time, indie-rock assaults against slower-tempo pop, quiet melodies, and hints of twang. In the end, Floods + Fires is about conflict and the energy that conflict creates...and ultimately takes away. Gatsby's only full-length--and ultimately its swan song, Floods + Fires earned significant critical praise from local, regional, and national reviewers, and found regular radio play on more than 100 stations throughout New England and beyond.
Digital download includes two bonus tracks that we were stupid enough to leave off the CD. If you buy the CD we'll send 'em to you separately.

Press & Reviews
"Played through top to bottom, Floods + Fires is a great album."
— Now on Tour
"Gatsby's forte is the same as Superchunk's: riff-driven songs with unconventional melodies that don't seem like they should be catchy — but somehow are. It's a much easier trick to describe than to pull off, and Gatsby does better at it than most."
— Pathetic Caverns
"5th best New England CD of 2005"
— Worcester Magazine
"Gatsby have the great American indie-guitar rock album on their hands."
— Big Takeover
"Nothing could prepare you for Floods + Fires. Gatsby have been likened to Hüsker Dü, Heatmiser, Guided by Voices, The Feelies and Das Damen, and here, at last, you’ll get the impression that they’ve earned the comparisons."
